The use of cables instead of balusters is a cool new look in railings. What we do in cable railing systems, is use tensioners & enders to tighten the cable “balustrades”. So, the cables could possibly go vertically between the bottom rail and the top handrail, but typically look better installed horizontally between the sectional post uprights. If you look at the photos of what we can do with cable railings, you see that we’ve done horizontal cables.
Cable Railings with Metal Top and Bottom Rail
The Railing Factory we work with metal mostly. As our photo slides show you, the railing systems we do, all have metal bottom rails and top hand rails. It is however possible to do wooden railings with metal cable balustrades.
It’s an industrial yet luxurious new look.
